Sherine Badawi Walton
Senior Associate Director, Faculty Awards and Recognition & Special Projects
As Senior Associate Director, Sherine Badawi Walton is responsible for developing strategies to increase external recognition of faculty at all career stages. She works with senior leadership across the University to identify and prioritize prestigious awards and honors and advance highly competitive nominations.
Prior to joining the University of Chicago, Sherine was Deputy Director at the University of Southern California’s Center on Public Diplomacy from 2007-18, where she oversaw its strategic planning, board relations and outreach to its international constituents. She has served in senior development roles at both the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and the University of Oxford in the UK and held research positions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The American University in Cairo, and New York University.
Sherine received her BA in Political Science and French from Wellesley College and her MA in Egyptian Art and Archaeology from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University.
Before and after work, you’ll likely find Sherine with her nose in a library book on the 192 bus/Metra to and from Evanston.
